Hello, My name is Ashley Kozfkay (Kuz-ef-ka). I would like to share a little about myself with you. I grew up in a small farming town in Iowa. As much as I loved and appreciated being raised in such a close knit community, I wanted to see what else was out there!

After college, I moved to Madison, Wisconsin and worked in the education field. Here, I met my now husband. We took an adventure and moved to Burlington, Vermont and I began my career in the mental health field. I came to the realization that this was not the type of work that felt like a job, but rather a calling.

Two years later, we moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan to be closer to my husband’s family and I began the process of getting my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I became fully licensed in the state of Michigan.

After struggling with infertility issues, three years ago I was lucky enough to become a mom to my son and shortly after my daughter joined us too. Life to say the least is busy these days!

I began my career counseling children and adolescents who survived sexual abuse, along with parents/caregivers of survivors. I was so often impressed by my their resiliency and truly saw how the counseling process allowed them to heal and fulfill happy, healthy lives.

I strongly believe it is a privilege to walk beside individuals on their journey to health and fulfillment. As a counselor I will provide caring and empowering support while I assist you to identify your goals as you work toward them.

While I provide general counseling services for individuals, children and adolescents, my speciality areas are:
