“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tip toe if you must, but take the step.” -Naeem Callaway
Expressing personal aspects of your life can be a difficult task, add in an unfamiliar face and the process can become scary. Seeking help is an admirable step in self care and I strongly believe the process should be one of ease and comfort. My goal is to provide a warm, nonjudgmental space to promote self discovery, healing, and growth that is specific to each individuals needs or goals. I further will work alongside you to create new solutions to your problems, reach your goals, and learn new skills for managing your life. Becoming the best version of you takes work and I am here to help you and next to you along that journey.
Much of my professional background is within a healthcare setting. My passion for counseling came through working one on one with patients dealing with health disparities and loss. I work from a holistic approach to provide help and support for individuals and/or their families who are facing the challenges that life can bring forward. My specialties are anxiety, depression, and addiction with additional interests in grief and loss, addiction, drug abuse, divorce, infidelity, emerging adulthood, other relationship issues, and anger management.
I have got the travel bug! In my open time I enjoy traveling and have recently started venturing in to some solo travel. I enjoy every minute of time that can be spent with my family and friends and hope to have a family of my own some day. I enjoy anything outdoors and on or in the water as I grew up spending summers on a sailboat. Yoga, reading, running, and shopping are also very frequent in my life. I am an extrovert by nature and am always looking to meet new people, have new adventures, and learn and gain knowledge. Most people find me to be a kind, open, bubbly person with a sense of humor.
I received my Masters in Counseling Education and Counseling Psychology through Western Michigan University this past December and am pursuing a Professional Counselor license in the State of Michigan. As a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, I am working under the direct clinical supervision of Anthony Muller, MA, LPC, CAADC, CCS. Should you have any questions you may contact Mr. Muller at 616-516-9985, Email: amuller@wedgwood.org
In addition to my private practice I am a Substance Use Disorder Outreach Clinician for adolescents at a local community agency. I further am happy to answer any questions you may have and look forward to meeting with you to start this journey.
Please contact me at 616-914-7342 to set up your first session. I provide flexible hours for those who work or have school commitments during normal business hours with some Saturday morning availability.
